About us

Willie's Taco Joint is a Mexican restaurant and cantina located in the heart of the Legends Entertainment District in Downtown Phoenix, AZ. This multiple award-winning independent small business continues to support local charities, including The United Phoenix Fire Fighter charities, Phoenix Children's Hospital, Phoenix Police charities, and many more.

Willie's Taco Joint is a true family-friendly and family-owned establishment that opened its doors in December 2016. The ownership group has previously owned and operated Coach & Willie's (2000-2016) and Coach's Corner Grill (2014-2018) in the Legends Entertainment District and continues its commitment to embracing, supporting, and celebrating the Downtown Phoenix community and the state of Arizona.

Willie's believes “color is flavor” and this traditional Mexican vibrancy resonates in the award-winning inventive menu items and the vivid exterior and interior décor, inspired and created by Lalo Canto, Phoenix's own celebrated local artist.

Coupling outstanding culinary creations that highlight mouth-watering traditional Mexican fare, along with the vibrancy and rebirth of Downtown Phoenix, Willie’s Taco Joint is committed to providing excellent service and food and beverage for years to come.

Loves these tacos. My personal favorite is the carne asada taco and the chicken taco but haven't had a bad one yet! Perfect place to stop by for tacos and a drink before games, concerts, and other events downtown. Also queso is really good, Texan approved.

The green butcher taco, the gringo taco, the taquitos, the carne asada burrito, the fish tacos, the margarita, ALL of it... was SO GOOD. This is the best food we've had in Phoenix and you should absolutely go and enjoy it. The ambiance is fun too! We even got shirts because their style is that awesome.

Traveled to Sedona and we made a trip to Phoenix to see the city life here and this was the highlight of the Phoenix trip. We got the carne asad fries (way bigger than expected), 2 carne asad tacos, and a maui wowie taco. The corn tortillas were crispy and delicious!! The mango habanero sauce is sooo good and pairs great w the maui wowie...

We arrived at Chase Field for a L.A. Dodgers game. We decided to walk around downtown near the stadium and found this great taco joint. My wife had the Layered Taco Salad with chicken and said it was so good. I had 3 tacos. The Green Butcher, the Pork Belly and the Sloppy Jose. All 3 tacos were amazing. My favorite would definately be the Green Butcher...

Great visitors bar. We were in town for the Sox series and were pleasantly surprised with how many Sox fans there were here they seem to cater to the visiting team with the music great service a food is great for quick bite before the game
